A US-based non-profit organization focused on promoting fair consumer treatment needed support in updating its public-facing privacy notice to comply with global regulatory standards.
The client required a manual review of their privacy notice to align the current version of this document with current and pending U.S. state and federal privacy laws. Recommendations were required to update and align the Notice to in-scope regulation and to reflect the data processing activities they were responsible for.
our approach
Myna worked with the client developing an approach that maximized efficiency while providing a comprehensive review of their privacy notice.
This included:
- Leading two data-gathering workshops to understand the client’s current pain points and their desired future state for the privacy notice.
- Completing a line-by-line review with specific recommendations for improvements for the client’s current state privacy notice.
- Providing high-level observations and general recommendations for enhancing the privacy notice and promoting further maturing of the organization’s privacy program.
- Leading an executive summary call explaining the methodology behind the privacy notice review, as well as a walk-through of all recommendations.
Program Outcomes
- Myna delivered a comprehensive review of the client’s current privacy notice, including line-by-line recommendations.
- In addition to detailed recommendations, Myna provided high-level observational insights to further boost compliance and mature the client’s overall privacy program.
- An executive presentation was given to senior stakeholders, summarizing high-level observations, and offering strategic recommendations to address gaps and mitigate risks observed/identified in the privacy notice.
