Designing a Global Privacy Operating Model for an Agricultural Company

A U.S.-based global agricultural company was looking for support to create and design a global privacy program, aiming to establish a worldwide baseline for privacy compliance.

To align a global privacy program across multiple jurisdictions and divisions, the client needed assistance with identifying and building a governance model and creating a suite of policies tailored to their unique business model, culture, and values.

They also required help with socializing and adopting of the new model, defining roles and responsibilities as well as ensuring awareness and education on the revised policies and procedures.

our approach

Myna worked closely with the client to identify existing governance structures and controls, aiming to increase efficiency within their model and reduce risk across the organization.

The strategy focused on creating a program governance model centered on compliance with all relevant global privacy regulations.

The key objectives included:

  • A Privacy Program Operating Model
    • Myna’s key current state observations
    • A priority list and roadmap that addresses identified key risks
    • Recommended structure for a global compliance team
  • The creation of a suite of policies that support the operationalization of the privacy program

Program Outcomes

  • The Privacy Program Operating Model that encompassed key observations, recommendations, and defining the roles and responsibilities of a new global team was created and implemented.
  • A suite of policies was developed and put in across the organization to support the governance and the operationalization of the privacy program.
  • All activities processing personal data in high-risk business regions were identified. Data inventories were created, mapping the lifecycle of the data for each process.
