Background – Will is a Senior Associate with Myna Partners. His experience includes compliance, privacy program management, Third-Party Risk Management, data mapping, data subject rights request management, and best practices in a variety of other privacy domains. Before joining Myna Partners, Will spent time with a law firm focusing on the areas of data privacy, information governance, and cybersecurity. He assisted in conducting entity-wide, risk-based assessments, including for CCPA, CPRA, GDPR, FCRA, COPPA, HIPAA, and other regulatory schemes. He has experience drafting and reviewing client deliverables including privacy policies, terms of use, third party contracts, cyber insurance policies, research memos, and more.
Experience, Skills, and Expertise – Will has experience working with focused startup teams as well as large, multinational corporations in a wide range of industries such as retail, insurance, entertainment, and technology. His work has included developing privacy programs, conducting risk assessments, and drafting essential privacy documentation such as privacy notices. As part of conducting risk assessments, he has helped to build out new data subject rights request programs and analyzed existing programs receiving requests from different jurisdictions, including those made pursuant to GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and HIPAA.
Certifications and Education – Will is an IAPP Certified Information Privacy Professional – US (CIPP/US). Will is a OneTrust GRC Professional, OneTrust Data Mapping, Privacy Rights Automation, and PIA & DPIA Automation Expert. He holds a bachelor’s degree in English and a Master of Fine Arts degree in creative writing from the University of Kansas. He also holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri – Kansas City.
