Background – Luke Labenski is a Privacy Engineer Manager within Myna Partners. Luke has a background in cybersecurity privacy, risk, governance, and compliance where he managed and performed risk assessments and compliance projects for clients in the healthcare, consumer products, insurance, and financial industries. Having prior experience in network penetration testing, scripting, and managing databases and servers, he bridges the gap between the highly technical low-level IT elements and the overarching privacy, risk, and compliance frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, NIST CSF, PCI, and ISO 27001.
Experience, Skills and Expertise – Before joining the Myna Partners team, Luke gained experience managing Linux servers and SQL databases, performing security research, and creating network and data scraping and analysis tools for security professionals in Java, Python, and R. He spent multiple years as a cybersecurity consultant working as part of a team performing privacy, risk, and compliance assessments where he assisted clients in the areas of HIPAA, NIST CSF, PCI DSS, and ISO 27001 including helping to guide the remediation process.
Certifications and Education – Luke holds a bachelor’s degree from Stevens Institute of Technology with a specialization in cybersecurity.
