Background – Eric is the Managing Partner of the Myna Partners. He has over 20 years of combined risk management, advisory, and governance experience with 15 of those years having a heavy focus on privacy. Before Myna Partners, Eric oversaw the Advisors division at Focal Point Data Risk which provided cybersecurity, privacy, information governance, risk management, and audit services. He was very successful in growing these services because of his client and people-first approach, as well as developing customized service offerings to align with client needs and the ability to build a team of highly skilled resources with diverse skillsets.
Experience, Skills, and Expertise – Eric has hands-on experience with risk management matters that span across industries, assisting some of the largest global organizations in the world, down to small start-ups that are in the early stages of development. He has diverse skill sets that stem from a technology background, evolving into risk management and regulatory expertise. A unique element of his experience relates to the implementation and execution of privacy programs, having deep knowledge of business processes, technology, and people. This understanding allows him to design, implement and maintain privacy programs to mitigate various risk factors while still allowing organizations to operate efficiently and innovatively. Experiences include helping organizations with regulatory and industry compliance requirements such as GDPR, CCPA, PIPEDA, GLBA, HIPAA, ISO 27001/02, and NIST 800-53.
Certifications and Education – Eric is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and a Certified in Risk and Information Systems Controls (CRISC). He is a frequent speaker at national and regional events around the United States. Eric was also part of the IAPP Education Advisory Board Member, IAPP KnowledgeNet Chair – South Florida Region, and the winner of SC Media’s prestigious Reboot Leadership Award in the “Chief Privacy Officer” category (2017)
